Japanese Studied Round Table via Zoom

The Japanese Studies Association of Australia (JSAA) has been funded by The Japan Foundation to complete a report on the state of Japanese Studies in the region. The focus of the report, which is intended as an annual activity will be on these voices from the field over hard statistics. 

The round table aims to bring together interested individuals to collate key impressions and thoughts on the state of the field. 

Please see the categories included in the report and some prompt questions to give you a sense of the plan and structure of the report.

The categories are:

1.当該国・地域における日本研究の概況

  当該国・地域の日本研究に関する沿革、特徴、主要研究分野・テーマなど。

2.最新動向

  当該国・地域において現在注目を集めている研究など。

3.今後の展望と課題

  当該国・地域の日本研究に関する今後の展望・課題など

4.その他

Further prompt questions:

  • What are the current characteristics of Japanese studies research in your institution and region?

  • What research is currently attracting attention in your discipline and region?

  • What are the future prospects for Japanese studies research in your institution and region? (the state of funding, post-graduate students)

  • How has Japanese studies research changed over the last 10 years?
